Product Management
Introduction
In this module, we will discuss propositions, product and service management, and start explaining the importance of a well-planned, documented and executed development of solutions (propositions, products and services) and how this will be important in their future management.
We will cover the role and objectives of a product manager including:
- How to set targets efficiently;
- The needed outputs of any planning exercise and how it influences the overall bank;
- What aspects to track on a proposition, product or service to ensure the expected performance.
- We will also discuss the tools for acquiring, maintaining, increasing value, loyalty and avoiding customer attrition.
Finally, there is the concept that 'less is more'.
Note:
1) Whenever we refer to the Product Manager, they will represent Managers of Proposition, Product, and Services in financial services companies. We will do this to make the text easier to understand.
2) Whenever we use the word 'bank', it represents financial service companies, including banks, fintechs, digital banks, insurance companies, and all financial institutions operating in Retail and SME segments.
